About

I'm Laura, a Dublin-based abstract artist whose work explores the relationship between colour, texture and emotion.

My creative journey began with a foundation in art before studying at the Institute of Art, Design and Technology (IADT) in Dún Laoghaire. I graduated with Distinction in Design Communications before continuing my studies with a degree in Interactive Media.

Following graduation, I spent more than twenty years working across motion graphics, advertising, web design and digital product design, eventually specialising in User Interface (UI) design. Returning to IADT years later as a guest lecturer brought my creative journey full circle.

After more than two decades creating for clients, painting became a way of creating without a brief. It wasn't a departure from design; it was a return to creating for myself.

My painting practice is rooted in colour, texture and intuitive mark-making. My background in design continues to influence the way I paint, from composition and balance to visual flow, while giving me the freedom to embrace spontaneity and let each painting evolve naturally.

Today I create original abstract paintings, limited edition fine art prints and commissioned works. This marks the beginning of a new chapter in my creative journey, and I'm excited to see where it leads. After many years creating for others, painting has given me the freedom to create instinctively again, and I'm enjoying every step of the journey.
